DAY 3 JULY 19 PISA-LUCCA

"Buongiorno" (Good morning/day) Ya this morning this Globus coach is taking us to Lucca via Pisa...ALL our travelling companions were on time . In fact our tour Director hinted that since everyone wants to make the most of the time available and see as much as possible - so it is important that every participant is on TIME ALL THE TIME....(she only gives us 10 mins' grace...after which she "nicely" puts it that we better get a coppy of our daily travelling shedule so that the one who is late can always takes a taxi and meet us in out next destination!!!) Now you know why everybody is on time every day and @ evry stop!!!!!!

We were also informed that heavy perfume or strong aftershave can inconvenience other passengers.. Be considerate of other participants and use these items sparingly.

We were reminded that passengers must remain seated at all times while the coach is in motion. Faillure to do so may result in serious injury if the driver has to change speed, brake or stop suddenly. Passengers using the emergency washroom do so at their own risk!!!! (not encouraged to use it the washroom is reserved for true emergencies !!!!) Therefore thru out our 10 days only Joel is the one who used it...and only once.

We head north along the costline to Lucca and on the way we'll stop @ Pisa for lunch (not provided)

When we reach our destination this little train is to take us to the Leaning Tower

Dadda as usual is always the last to get in...VERY polite of him...to give every body a chance to chose where they want to sit...then he'll sit where
ever...(he's like this on every holiday)
While on this train we can hear songs played by a CD ..see the notice??? Don't think anybody buys it.....songs all in Italiano.
When we reach there...crowded with tourists!! See don't these stalls remind us of our own 'pasar malam???'

We soon realised that Italians like to sit outside the restaurants for their 'makan' even though the weather is sooooooooo hot!

The figure in white is a 'busker' we soon find that this is very common in tourist area...

The first sight of the Leaning Tower...Mumsie had been here a very long long time ago...wonder if mumsie can find those old photos .

Gosh it is hot...around 30 degrees

Mumsie must have tilted her camera..the tower is not leaning that much!!!

In fact here the tower is not leaning at all!!!!

Soooo verrrrry hot and these people can sit under the tents and have their lunch!!!

We walked up to this place and tooke some photos

Is the tower actually leaning????

Dadda and Liny bz bz taking their best shots!!

Took this to show that one can climb right up to the top of the tower....enlarge this so that you can see the people up there... No we did't climb up there ..Not enough time...takes about 30 mins to climb up there and children under 8 is not allowed. In fact we were so bz taking photos outside the building that we didn't go into any of the building at all...We were told that there is a very beutiful church in one ot the buildings.

Celine did this shot of Dadda supporting the Tower

And this too with Cat supporting it with one finger!

Now you understand what all these 'fellas' are trying to do....No they are not practising Tai Chee here
See all those "tai chee" positions in the background??
AND here???

There are 3 buldings here...The Babtistry, Duomo and the Leaning Tower

Anice statue of Mother Mary...I think in this corner of the building....After Pisa we took a long coach ride to our hotel.. The Grand Hotel Guinigi and had our dinner there....(dinner is included that night at the hotel)

Quite a nice dining room and dadda likes the chandeliers

Well "buonasera" Gotta wake up early the next morning to visit hilltop San Gimignano, the most picturesque of Italy's "perfectly" preserved medieval towns. Then to Siena and Florence.
