MUMSIE'S INDOOR & OUTDOOR'S PLANTS

Chinese New Year is around the corner and Mumsie is bz bz with her plants indoor as well as outdoor....to make sure they are presentable during the festive seasons....
This is supposed to be a CNY plant...got it almost 3 years ago.. It has out grown its original pot...So mumsie got it a new pot...hope this pot will last another 3 years and this plant has never been out door since mumsie got it 3 years ago. Shall take another photo of it once mumsie has 'dressed' her up for CNY

On and off mumsie put on the lights to give these plants some light....

These plants do quite well indoors

Mumsie gave them a 'hair cut' 2 weeks ago...

This too had been indoor for quite some time

Recently this plant was attacked by 'aphids' It took mumsie quite some time to get rid of it ...manually...ie mumsie literally spent 2-3 hours dayly plucking the aphids out one by one with a tooth pick...and the hard work paid off..Now it is rid of its aphids...and it looks healthy and 'bushy' too

Got this as a present for last year's CNY...One year on & it still is going strong...

These 2 plants are doing well in this corner

The out door plants are doing not bad too...This is a New addition to the garden...

Hope these will flower like now during the CNY

Mumsie hope that this will stay as nice during CNY.....With the wealther (raining nearly everyday) fairly moist this seems to do verywell

Mumsie got this (only 2 tiny leafs) by the road side some years back...Now they do look different .

This orchid and the Christmas plants is growing well at this corner.

This orchid is growing on a tree trunk..got this idea from my last visit to Redang ..Tried it and it works and this is its second bloom since mumsie stuck it on this trunk...And the bloom really last...at least 2-3 weeks!!!!

Acording to Feng Shui...the stag horn (think this is what it is called) is a good plant to have...and mumsie had this stuck to one of mumsie's tree..(Actually mumsie got this 3 years ago..didn't know that Lilian Too recommended it for good Feng Shui then.

This 'Fu Kwai Hwa' Plant is planted from seed...
believe or not mumsie planted this from some seedlings before mumsie moved into this house.
So this plant has been with mumsie for more than 10 YEARS!!!!

This is grown from 'cutting' and mumsie had this for more than 15 years.....at least . Got to trim it recently so that it will bloom (hopefully) beautifully during CNY.

This too has been with mumsie for more than 15 years at least....Transfered from the old house....

Hope all these will bloom well for mumsie during CNY.

Got this 2 years ago...mumsie is still learning how to manage this....not good at it yet..doesn't seem to 'bloom' that well..not up to mumsie's expection

Well that's all for the time being didn't have time to take photos of all the indoor plants... mumsie's bathroom and those plants in the siting room ect...maybe next time ...........

WHAT A PARTY!!!

Every year CSM has a BIG PARTY..It is an annual affair...and the staff gets to pick the place...This year they picked New York Hotel.
The theme for this year is TRADITIONAL. Ya tradition. Which means that all staff gotta come dressed in traditional outfits.. Two years ago was INDIAN
So all the staffs came with either Punjabi or Indian costumes (Including the boss) This year Prizes will be given to the best 3....
And they really came in their Sunday Best!

Wonder if Grandma and Auntie knows what's going on...
Gotta admit that mumsie is a 'lousy' camera man...the excuse is.....mumsie got this new camera for Christmas , so didn't have time to learn how to use it yet

And some of them came with their family..Here's S/N Siti with her 2 children (Behind is Dr Loh , the anaesthest with his two children)

Actually even though most of the Malay staffs came in their traditional costumes...they did make quite an effort cos some of their outfits that night was made from special materials...and cost them quite a bit!!!(Mumsie was not one of the judges so none of them was chosen as finalists.)

Not only was their outfits 'special' Quite a few of them had 'make-ups' done by 'professional!

ROU MIN'S FAREWELL

Rou Min one of our nurses is leaving us for Monash University (Australia) to pursue her Nursing Diploma course.
Since she was from OPD (clinic) Department so the boss took the OPD staff to lunch in Mutiara (farewell lunch) Thanks to her all of us had a delicious lunch that day..(Poor mumsie will have to stay longer on the treadmill or cycle longer distances for the next few days to shed off those extra kilos!!!!)

Must say that Mutiara (Holiday Inn) did serve good lunches...either buffet or a la carte...we had a la carte cos not much time to 'buffet' all those food. (only had 1 hr for lunch break) Infact before we can finish...the hospital already rang one of us to inform us that many patients were already waiting in front of the clinic.

See the ambience is not bad. Miss Wong is really finding it hard to make up her mind of what to choose from her menu... Finally she followed the crowd and chose Nasi Amabang.

Daddy is the only one who ordered Mee Mamak
(He always wants to be a 'bit different') But it really taste gooooood. Mumsie will definitely want to return there for this dish!
The rest of us had Nasi Ambang...it's rice with salt fish, ayam masak merah, coconut (or is it called grisik???) fish with some yummy spicy sauce some vegi and fried mee...Don't mind going back there to taste this dish again...yeah it is gooooood! Was told that this dish originated from a place called Ambang in Indonesia.
