CHRISTMAS PRESENTS

In many countries of the world, the clelebration of Christmas on December 25th is a high point of the year. But why? Can it have any real meaning for us today? Is there a 'real' Christmas message?

From November onwards, it is impossible to forget that Christmas is coming. Coloured lights decorate many town centres and shops, along with shiny decorations, ect ect (including Mumsie's house and clinic)

Most people post Christmas greeting cards to their friends and family and hopefully these cards will be hung on the walls of their homes (and work place)....mumsie will make sure that she hangs up each and every card!!!!! Traditionally, Chrismas cards showed religious pictures, Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus or other parts of the Christmas story. Today, pictures are often jokes, winter pictures, Father Christmas, or romantic scenes of life in past times....

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

Look at this Christmas tree in mumsie's house..... Look at all the parcels......
Other than mumsie, grandma, and Asri (our Christian maid) ---(otta to take them to Christmas mass..).Dadda was the earliest to wake up on that Christmas morn...(he got called out to deliver some Christmas babies!!!!!!)

Cheh-cheh....was next...all excited to open her goodies.......and also to tuck in tasty b'fast of hot roti chanai with nice sauces of beef rendang, curry chicken and ect ect which mumsie bought from the mamak on the way back from church.
Gosh isn't she pleased!!!!!!!!!!
Then comes David...dunno who gave goodie to whom first......but things got done....anyway

Cheh -cheh is 'over the moon' with her new camera....(Her hintings paid off.....no need to write to Santa North Pole)
Believe it or not even Danny boy is awake early!!!

Grandma got ?wonder what from David
and ? wonder what from Cheh-chehLinny is the only one who hangs a chirstmas sock on her door. Anyway it's time to wake her up....(just in case she missed out all the 'fun' of watching the other

siblings openning their goodies...) Mumsie remembers that the other siblings used to hang big pillow cases on their doors not so long ago!!!

.Wonder if she has brushed her teeth first????

Dadda helpping her to dig into her sock
Must be something....?funny why are they so 'ticklish?'
'Father Christmas' (or 'Santa Claus') has become the human face of Chrismas. Children are taught that he brings them presents on the night before Christmas, and many children really believe this is true. It is also said that he lives near the North Pole, and arrives through the sky on a sledge pulled by reindeer. He comes into houses down the chimney at midnight and places presents for the children in socks or bags by their beds or in front of the family Christmas tree. Wonder if mumsie's little ones remember that nearly every Christmas mumsie had to take them to the post office to post their "letters" to Santa personally (wonder what Mr Postman did to those letters??)
Now who is this old man with the sack?? He is St. Nicholas,, a Christian leader who was very shy and wanted to give money to poor people without them knowing about it. It is said that one day he climbed the roof of a house and dropped a purse of money down the chimney. It landed in the stocking which a girl had put to dry by the fire! NOW YOU KNOW.........
He must be wondering to eat first or open his goodie first.....
This year mumsie and dadda must admit that we both got "what the little ones think is best suited for us' (Can't say they don't know us by now)Kinky (or coool) T-shirts from Danny Boy

Linny too got the same

Mumsie is really bz bz with her camera....First time for many many many years.....having her little ones and all awake at this time of the morning (and most importantly DADDA is around too...)

Today not many people consider the religious meaning to Christmas. Most people will not go to a religious church meeting, even at Christmas.. It has become a bz race to spend money on presents and get ready for the Day. A visitor from another world would think that Charistmas was a festival to the gods of money and shopping.

What do you want from Christmas?

Many people do hope for more than presents at Chhristmas. We want to somehow return to a time in our childhood (or some other good time in the past), when life was simpler and made more sense, before the troubles of adult life arrived. We feel sure that behind all the fun and decorations, there must somehow be a message, something more, some key to life, hope and happiness.

So can we look beyond the way Christmas is celebrated to day, and find any real meaning, any message for our lives today????
